Born in Australia but raised in Sligo, Kieran has been working as a teacher and musician ever since he realised that his hands were more suited to playing piano than trying to catch footballs on the GAA pitches of Ireland. He is a regular on the Sligo music scene, and is the host of a popular Thursday night residency in Source Sligo, where he is joined every week by various guest musicians.
As a musical director, he has been in charge of Coolera Dramatic Society’s christmas pantomime since 2008, as well as The STAR Factory’s productions of Grease, Hairspray and West Side Story, and he wrote and co-directed the critically acclaimed review show ‘An Evening with Sgt Pepper’ in 2010. Kieran also co-wrote and directed Anything Goes’ latest foray into the world of musical Theatre in 2013, SHUT UP AND LISTEN, which played to standing ovations at the Hawk’s Well Theatre. In July 2013 Kieran performed, as a member of Dublin Gospel Choir, on legendary composer Ennio Morricione’s Dublin concerts.
Kieran is the founder and director of Strandhill Sounds, a recently-established music centre providing innovative courses and self-styled piano lessons for budding musicians of all ages. He considers himself very lucky to have managed to create a career for himself in music, and is very proud and happy when working alongside his good friends in Anything Goes.
