Upcoming Gigs

If you would like to come hear the band perform in “wedding” mode, please contact us for a list of private functions, weddings etc, as we do not publish those here. Please see our testimonials page for feedback from couples who have had us play at their weddings.

Most of the remainder of 2014 is taken up with private functions so unfortunately no “pub gigs” are scheduled right now.

Anything Goes and Dublin Gospel Choir

Anything GoesDGC

Ennio Morricone has a lot to answer for! When he played two Dublin dates in the summer of 2013, long-time Dublin Gospel Choir member Sinead Conway enlisted 3 of her bandmates from Anything Goes to sing in the bass section with the choir, who had been chosen by Morricone himself to perform iconic pieces of music from legendary films such as The Mission, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, and a Fistful of Dollars.

Eddie Lee, Dave Flynn and Kieran Quinn were delighted to be part of the 100-strong choir that performed some of Morricone’s signature tunes with the Orchestra Roma Sinfionetta. The Anything Goes contingent enjoyed the experience so much that they invited the Dublin Gospel Choir to Sligo to perform a selection of their songs as part of a once-off concert in the Hawkswell on May 31st.

The Dublin Gospel Choir

From their modest beginnings as a local school choir in Dublin’s inner city in the mid 1990s, the Dublin Gospel Choir have become a household name in Ireland, playing a host of concerts each year, plus a large number of corporate and charity events. Their annual slot at Ireland’s internationally-acclaimed boutique festival Electric Picnic is now legendary and the choir are no stranger to large outdoor venues either, having performed to a sell-out 82,000 crowd at Croke Park. They have shared the stage with music industry heavyweights such as Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, John Legend, Damien Rice and The Chieftains. The choir also featured along with Chris de Burgh on a special New Year’s Day BBC Songs of Praise programme which was broadcast to over 35 million viewers worldwide.

Anything Goes

Since its formation in 2011, Anything Goes has built up a local and national reputation as a quirky, creative and fun band. Comprised of Sinead Conway, ‘Famous’ Dave Flynn, Kieran Quinn, Eddie Lee and Ken McDonald, they are constantly in demand with audiences near and far. Their ‘Shut Up and Listen’ wowed theatre-goers in 2013 and they were also largely responsible for the 2010 show – ‘An Evening with Sgt.Pepper’, which proved hugely popular and toured theatres around the country. From children’s shows to private functions, from gala evenings to musicals and pantomimes, the band are ever versatile and always enjoy themselves.

This once-off collaboration promises to provide an electric evening’s entertainment. Both musical entities share a love for clever interpretations of well-known songs, innovative medleys, tight vocal harmonies. Above all, the sense of joy and fun they get from performing is tangible and guarantees smiles!

The show can be caught at the Hawkswell Theatre on the 31st of May. Tickets are priced at €20/€18 and can be purchased at www.hawkswell.com or from the Hawkswell Box Office at 071-
