Anything Goes most recent foray into musical theatre was the highly acclaimed “SHUT UP AND LISTEN – A Brief Hostory of Popular Music”, which ran at the Hawk’s Well Theatre in February and May 2013. The band has performed to large audiences at many gala concerts and its members have been involved in several musical theatre shows in recent years including An Evening with Sgt Pepper which featured the whole band as the main musical act throughout. This story of the Beatles Sgt Pepper album which included all of the songs from the legendary album and many other Beatles’ greats, toured Ireland in 2010 to great acclaim. Members of the band performed in Sligo’s annual Coolera Dramatic Society Pantomime in the Hawks Well each December, plus regularly appear as part of the orchestra in musicals such as West Side Story, Hairspray, The Wizard of Oz, Honk, All Shook Up, Musical Magic, Carousel, and others. The band’s varied set lends itself perfectly to variety shows and gala events,  recent additions to the set are Lulu’s “Shout”, the duet “Barcelona” by Freddie Mercury, a reflection of the band’s incredible versatility. In Spring 2012 the band performed a showstopping version of Prince’s Purple Rain with full Orchestra and two choirs as the finale to a gala fundraiser at the Radisson Blu, Sligo.
